If Treats magazine is a return to the Golden Age of print, then this shoot from inside its pages is a return to the Golden Age of artistic nudes. Its model, Fanny Francois, is blessed with the exact attributes needed, as if she were fashioned from the clay by a maker whose objective was singular: to make her the artist's muse. The life drawer's muse. Soft features, pensive expressions, and a classically feminine form all belong to Fanny, and photographer David Bellamere captures them in a light that's steeped in art, not fashion.
There's no complex hairstyles, no makeup, no attention-grabbing backdrops to detract from the naked female form as the one focus of the shoot. And while it's erotic, while it's sensual, it's not the titillating stuff of which lad's mags are made (a comment Daniel makes about Treats in general and that certainly applies here) - rather it's the kind of nude you might have expected to come from a painter's brush, the kind that could easily be framed and left to hang, with relative unobtrusiveness, on an art-lovers wall.
