A Cadbury advertisement for Bliss ? a "dreamy chocolate truffle" ? includes the tagline, "Move over Naomi, there's a new diva in town." So? there can be only one pampered brown thing in the UK at a time? And is the company really comparing Naomi Campbell to a chocolate bar? More

Snooki Hits A Police Car In Italy, Italian-American Relations Plunge Southward
Snooki rear-ended a cop car in Florence, Italy, this weekend, sending two police officers to the hospital with whiplash. Snooki, her pal Deena, and a "Jersey Shore" film crew member were being escorted by the cop car, which pinned Snooki's car against a highway wall after the crash. This surely won't do any good to improve Jersey-Italy relations, which have been wilting like a bouffant with too much hair gel ever since the "Jersey Shore" cast announced they'd be filming a season in their homeland. Miraculously, though, no limoncello shots (or any other alcohol) were involved in this fender bender! Despite all those trips up and down the NJ Turnpike, Snooki's just a plain ol' bad driver. LOOK: Sarah Burton?s ?God Save McQueen? Scarves Are Deadly Beautiful (Styleite)
Sarah Burton has been doing a spectacular job running Alexander McQueen in the absence of the label's founder (Seriously, did you see Kate Middleton 's wedding dress'), and her newest collection of silk scarves is no exception. The collection, cleverly titled God Save McQueen, embodies everything the designer wanted to accomplish with his clothing.

The Great Gatsby: influencing fashion
In the not too distant future a new interpretation of The Great Gatsby will grace our cinema screens, and with it will come a renewed interest in 1920s fashion. With the new film, TV series from the same era, and society's attempts to move away from the austerity of recent years, there could be something of the perfect storm. As such, Fashionising.com is looking at a revival of all things 1920s not just for the potential interpretation of the 'modern-flapper' but also for the potential for the influence of 1920s fashion to dominate part of 2012's fashion trends in the latter half of the year. But which elements will we be looking to in the coming seasons?
When you look back at the bygone decades, you either remember the political liberation, the historical restructure or the fashion. The way society's men and women dressed, the shoes they wore, the parties they attended and the wine they drank.
The 1920s brought with it a ring of independence, sexual emancipation and life. People realised they want to live life to the fullest. The decade is remembered, perhaps even romanticised, for being all about sex, alcohol and jazz. After the horror of the First World War, people intended to make up for all the time lost. This overwhelming desire to bounce back brought about transformations that awestruck the world. Architecture became more aerodynamic, modern technology took over households and the female wardrobe underwent a momentous alteration. Even though books may argue that 'youth culture' gained popularity in the 1960s, Hollywood movies and TV shows set in the 1920s seem to argue otherwise. People lived a fast paced lifestyle, secretly consumed excessive amount of alcohol and danced the night away to live jazz at the bar.
But the real excitement was the birth of a flapper girl. And we're now looking for her return.

30 Things You Can Do This Weekend
...With or Without a Man
Happy Memorial Day weekend! How about a little trivia to start your day?
In 1868, May 30th was designated as a holiday to honor the nation’s Civil War casualties. Now called Memorial Day, it was originally known as Decoration Day. Red poppies are commonly associated with Memorial Day and are worn as a symbol of respect for those who have died in war. Visiting cemeteries and memorials is a common way to observe the day. Many people show their respect by placing flowers and wreaths on the graves of the departed. Each year on this day a national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.
———
When I was single I had a love/hate relationship with these long weekends. I loved having the extra time off work; I hated that I didn’t have a man to spend the time with.
I thought I would help you out by giving you a bunch of ideas of things to do this weekend. I have all kinds of thoughts about how to make this, or any other weekend, enjoyable–with or without a man.
- Volunteer in your community helping children, saving the planet, rescuing animals, beautifying your city…tons of people need you.
- Have a chick-date with a new friend.
- Go on a cheap weekend getaway.
- Go to a department store makeup section and get a free makeover.
- Buy a new dress and pair of sandals. (Summer is here!)
- Get tickets for a play or other live event. Grab a discount if you can by going to www.Goldstar.com.
- Go to a singles event or just one to meet a new girlfriend. (Google “[your city] singles” or go to Meetup.com.
- Go to a wine-tasting event – they have those all over now.
- Go to the art, science, history…whatever museum.
- Go to a seminar or lecture, maybe to learn more about yourself or men.
- Go to the local library and make goo-goo eyes at all the smart men.
- Call or email the guy who got away.
- Organize and conduct a car wash to raise money for the local schools. (They need it!)
- Plant a garden.
- Get that massage you’ve been talking about. (These days there are ways to get all kinds; many reasonably priced.)
- Have a picnic and read a book at the park. (Preferably one that will give you some new dating skills. Hey! How about my eBook.)
- Learn to paddleboard, bowl, or do some other sport you’ve been talking about.
- Organize a Parcheesi or poker party and have everyone bring one guest – male or female; either is fun.
- Take a bike ride.
- Get online and don’t get off until you connected with 10 men in some way. (wink, email…whatever)
- Go to the local big book store, find a book and read it there. (And make goo-goo eyes at all the smart men.)
- Ask a man to help you carry something, give his advice, fix your car…just see what it’s like to receive. (Yeah, really…just do it.)
- Take a class (Salsa, Spanish, wine tasting, floral arranging, tennis…)
- Go to the beach, mountains or some other scenic area to paint, draw or just observe the beauty alone or with a friend.
- Try a new restaurant, but make it out of your area, and then go have a drink.
- Do a good deed. Walk someone’s dog, watch someone’s child while they do something fun, or shop for your elderly neighbor.
- Call a friend who’s been down in the dumps and ask her what movie she has been wanting to see. Then take her and buy her popcorn.
- Walk around your neighborhood and talk to those folks you’ve been seeing every day but not getting to know.
- Start a gratitude journal by listing all the people and things you are grateful for.
- Give your dog a bath then march her proudly around the dog park. (Great place to meet men!)
