Max Azria and Vena Cava Won?t Show This Fashion Week, Either

Fall 2011 looks from Vena Cava and Max Azria.

Isaac Mizrahi isn't the only name missing from the schedule this season. The Max Azria collection, which is the higher-end line produced by Max Azria the man, won't show in this upcoming New York Fashion Week, his publicist confirms (in seasons past, it occupied the 3 p.m. time slot on Sundays). Although they won't specify why it's gotten the ax, it's presumably owing to the financial overhaul that the company's currently undergoing to improve its grim credit rating. Max Azria Group's other labels, Herve Leger and BCBG Max Azria, will show during their usual times.

Meanwhile, in lieu of their usual show or presentation, Vena Cava has confirmed that they're holding a very small "preview" of their spring 2012 collection before Fashion Week. Only friends and family (their moms, for sure) will be invited, but the label will release images to press afterwards. Usually this kind of downsizing is the result of financial difficulties, and last season their collection earned harsh reviews; hopefully they'll get back on track this year.
